Lisbon is one of the friendliest places you’ll ever visit. A truly illuminated city, the constant presence of sunshine over the Tagus River transforms this Portuguese capital into a mirror of a thousand colors, highlighting the city’s unique architecture.

A bustling metropolis on the coast, Cape Town has unmatched views and a backdrop that can’t be beat: it sits on a peninsula beneath Table Mountain. It’s known as one of the most wanderlust-y cities for good reason. With plenty of diverse offerings such as unique flora and fauna, drool-worthy beach side towns, and a cool urban edge, this city is a must visit cultural destination.

6. Medellin, Colombia

There’s lots to uncover in this Colombian city that’s nicknamed the “City of Eternal Spring” and now best known for its textile manufacturing industry. It’s pulsing with discos, street performers and a cultural renaissance that’s put the city on the radar of many travelers who were once wary of the effects of its notorious cocaine cartel in the 1980s. With a population of 2.5 million people, each neighborhood feels like its own city, so there’s plenty to explore.
